Sub-brow Lift

sub-brow lift_edited.jpg

Sub-brow approach involves operation to remove the excess skin under eyebrow, especially around the lateral canthal area, to achieve a livelier look. The surgical scar will be concealed at the lower border of eyebrow. Although the operation typically does not take long and makes use of local anesthesia, it is only recommended for a specific group of individuals:

  1. No drooping eyebrows, as the operation is not designed to correct that.

  2. Already have double eyelids.

  3. Proportional gap between eyebrow and eyelash. The operation will close this gap further.

  4. Mild to no sign of eyelid ptosis. Eyelid ptosis conditions are better solved by operating on the eye skin area to be able to remove more excess skin.

  5. Had previously undergone Upper Blepharoplasty but still have signs of eyelid ptosis.

  6. Regular users (or planning to become) of eyebrow pencils, as it will help conceal any visible surgical scars.

Recommended for

Individuals with sagging upper eyelid skins

Operation details

After applying anesthesia, the surgeon will remove the skin under the brow. The amount of skin removed will differ across individuals, depending on the amount of the excessive skin and the overall flexibility. The surgeon will then stop the bleeding with an electrocautery, tuck the surgical cut along the upper brow.

Post-operative care

  1. Apply cold pack to the area during the first 3 days.

  2. Clean the area daily, avoid contact with water until suture removal date.

  3. Remove the stitches on Day 7. Patient can wash his/her face and apply makeup afterwards.

  4. Avoid sunlight exposure during the first 3 months.

  5. The swelling will be less noticeable after 3-6 months.

Possible side effects

Sub-brow Lift rarely comes with any side-effects. Some individuals may notice mild bleeding around the surgical cut, which will naturally stop on its own. There may be visible scars around the lower brow, which will also fade away after 1 year.

How long will the results of the surgery last?

The result will typically last a lifetime.
